Lim Dong-hyuk scores 18 points, including 10 back-attacks, Cho Jae-young 14 points Roadworks Burkina Faso loses its first triple crown

Korean Air extended its winning streak to two games with a victory over OK Financial Group. GS Caltex earned a come-from-behind victory over Korea Expressway Corporation.

Korean Air won its Dodram 2023-2024 V-League home match against OK Financial Group 3-0 (25-20 26-24 25-15) on Sunday at Incheon Gyeyang Gymnasium.

Korean Air moved from fourth to third place in the league with its third straight win. With a 4-2 record and 13 points, they trail league leaders Samsung Fire and second-place Woori Card by one point.

OK Financial saw its winning streak snapped at two games. With a 4-2 record and 10 points, they dropped to fourth place, three points behind Korean Air.

Korean Air's Lim Dong-hyuk led both teams with 18 points, including 10 back-attacks. Jeong Jung-yong added 15 points, including four back-attacks, three blocks and two service aces. Cho Jae-young added 14 points, including three blocks and one service ace. Lee Jun had 12 points. Kim Gyu-min had eight points, including six blocks.

For OK Financial, Leo had 16 points and Shin Shin-jin 15, but it wasn't enough to prevent the loss. Song Hee-chae added eight points and Bayarsaihan seven points.

Early in the first set, Korean Air took the lead thanks to even scoring from its young side hitters, including Lee Jun, Jeong Jung-yong, and Lim Dong-hyuk. Setter Han distributed the ball with a steady toss, while middle blocker Cho Jae-young added to the score with a pure fastball.

OK Finance tried to catch up with Leo and Shin, but Jo Jae-young's block kept them at bay. Korean Air took the first set.

At the beginning of the second set, OK Financial took the lead through Shin Shin-jin, but Lim Dong-hyuk scored back-to-back kills to catch up. Leo and Shin concentrated their firepower, but Kim Gyu-min responded with four blocks in the second set alone.

With the score tied at 23-23, Korean Air reached set point when Shin made a service error. Shin made a back attack for a deuce. After receiving a toss from Han, Cho Jae-young made a fast attack, and Shin's open attack hit the net and went out, giving Korean Air the second set.

Korean Air took the lead in the third set. Lee Jun, Jeong Jung-yong, and Lim Dong-hyuk scored points. OK Financial tried to catch up with Shin Shin-jin and Leo Ssangpo. At the end of the set, Korean Air took over. It tied OK Financial at 15 points and ended the set with a service ace by Jung Jeong-yong and back-to-back points by Cho Jae-young.

The women's professional volleyball team GS Caltex won a come-from-behind victory over Korea Expressway Corporation at home.

GS Caltex came from a set point down to win 3-2 (16-25 17-25 25-17 25-21 15-11) against Korea Expressway Corporation in the women's Dodram 2023~2024 V-League at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul on Sunday.

GS Caltex won its second straight match after the previous match against Hyundai E&C. GS Caltex remained in second place in the league with a 5-1 record and 13 points, two points behind first-place Heungkuk Life (15 points).

Roadworks, which won the previous match in straight sets to escape an opening four-game losing streak, had its winning streak snatched away from it. With the extra point from the full-set victory, the road team moved from sixth to fifth place in the league with a 1-5 record and six points.

GS Caltex's Giselle Silva led the way with 28 points, including six back-attacks and two blocks. Kang So-hwi had 22 points, including two service aces. Kwon Jin-ji added eight points and Han Su-ji had seven points, including two blocks. Kim Min-ji had three service aces.

For Roadworks, Vukiric completed the triple crown with 36 points, including four service aces, three blocks, and three back-attacks, but it wasn't enough to prevent the loss. Tanacha Sooksoot added 20 points. Bae Yuna had nine points, including three blocks. Moon Jung-won had six points and Kim Se-bin had five points, including three blocks.

In the first set, the visiting Roadworks jumped out to a 9-0 lead. While GS Caltex was unable to score due to an error by Silva, Roadworks steadily accumulated points through Vukiric. Kang So-hwi tried to catch up, but the team took the first set with points from Tanacha Suk-sot and Bae Yuna.
